Below you will find information about how to contact us and find out more about Tate.
All queries are dealt with in the first instance by the Information Teams attached to each gallery. Specialist queries are forwarded to relevant experts who then usually respond directly.
We aim to answer all letters within 10 working days of receipt. If it is not possible to reply within 10 working days, we shall send you an interim reply explaining the delay, answering any points we can, and advising when you can expect to receive a full reply.
You may want to check the Frequently Asked Questions list and Tate's Publication Scheme to see if your query has already been answered.
Please note that:- Tate is not in a position to give general information about art and artists, including contact details for artists in the Tate Collection or who are exhibiting at Tate (artists can be contacted via their representing commercial gallery).
- Tate is unable to authenticate or value works of art owned by private individuals. For advice regarding the identification of works of art, contact a reputable art dealer or auction house.
- Queries about works in Tate's Collection are welcome (see Information Teams). Individual research into areas represented by Tate's Collection can be undertaken in the Tate Library and Archive Reading Rooms at Tate Britain. Other major resources include The National Art Library at the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Witt Picture Library at the Courtauld Institute.
