There is a strong community in St Ives which takes an active interest in development within the town. Consultation with stakeholders and the wider community is key to the development of the project and over the past seven years there have been a series of consultations which have shaped the current proposals.
A Community Liaison Group was established at Tate St Ives, convening a group of community stakeholders, including representatives of the key stakeholder bodies such as St Ives Town Council, as well Tate St Ives Members, local special interest groups such as PASTI. The group meets 5 times a year to share information and to support the interrelationships between Tate St Ives and the wider community
Tate St Ives worked with the Tate St Ives Community Liaison Group in collaboration with Cornwall Rural Community Council on consultation for the Phase 2 project. The consultation involved a variety of local stakeholders and organisations and provided opportunities to view and comment on the plans as the designs were developed.
Tate and Cornwall Rural Community Council held three public consultation events over the summer and autumn of 2012. Many of the concerns and ideas expressed at these consultation events were fed into the design process,
