Olafur Eliasson YOUR DOUBLE-LIGHTHOUSE PROJECTION

© Olafur Eliasson

Olafur Eliasson is internationally renowned for installations and sculptures that feature natural phenomena such as light, steam, water, fire, wind and ice. Your Double-Lighthouse Projection comprises two circular, light-filled ‘rooms’. One is illuminated by shifting shades and densities of coloured light, the other by white light. As the viewer moves between the spaces a retinal afterimage is generated, a visual trace which is the opposite of the colour seen. With ever-changing colours and tonalities, together with a series of afterimages, the viewer is plunged into a state of perceptual confusion.
