Helen Anrep/Roger Fry, The archives of Helen Anrep and Roger Fry including the papers and drawings of the mosaicist, Boris Anrep.

This fascinating archive documents the lives of Helen Anrep, her husband the mosaicist Boris Anrep, and her long-term partner the art critic Roger Fry. It includes extensive correspondence between Helen Anrep and Roger Fry and amongst the Anrep family as well as letters from friends to Fry and Anrep, giving a wonderful glimpse into the world of the Bloomsbury Group and their wider circle. Correspondents include Vanessa Bell, Dora Carrington, Gerald Brenan, Virginia Woolf, Augustus John, Henry Lamb, Lytton Strachey and Stanley Spencer. The collection also includes Roger Fry's notebooks and lecture notes, photographs of family and friends and drawings and plans by Boris Anrep, including material related to his mosaics for the Tate Gallery and the National Gallery. It enhances and complements the Tate archives’ already strong holdings of material relating to the Bloomsbury Group.
