Tate Catering

Tate Catering also had a very successful year, responding well to the excellent visitor numbers. For the first time, consolidated sales were in excess of £13 million and profit was £1.7 million. Record trading figures were noted at Tate Modern and Tate Catering also played a central role in the organisation of UBS Openings: The Long Weekend, delivering a wide range of food and refreshments for different audiences. Tate St Ives had one of its best summers on record and Tate Liverpool held up well despite difficult local trading conditions.

Tate Catering successfully operated the Ice Café at Somerset House again over Christmas this year, and was offered a further three-year extension to its contract at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. It also tendered for and won the contract at Bluecoat Arts Centre in Liverpool, all of which demonstrates our ability to manage prosperous operations outside of Tate.

Tate Catering was accredited with Investor in People status at Tate St Ives, the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge and Tate Modern, demonstrating our commitment to ensuring we are an employer of choice who has successfully trained, developed and retained staff at all levels.
