Tate Members

Tate Members was founded in 1958 as The Friends of the Tate Gallery, to raise money for the purchase of works of art for the gallery, support the work of Tate and recruit members, thereby promoting the work of Tate to the general public.

The Tate Members Council meets regularly to allocate its funds to Tate acquisitions, exhibitions and special projects on behalf of all Tate Members.

Tate Foundation Limited

Tate Foundation Limited was created in 2000. The aim of the Tate Foundation is to further the charitable purposes of the Board of Trustees of the Tate Gallery through active fundraising, investment and membership schemes.

Tate Americas Foundation

Tate Americas Foundation is an independent charity based in New York that supports the work of Tate by raising gifts towards acquisitions, exhibitions, scholarship and capital projects. It manages an endowment that was gifted by Sir Edwin and Lady Manton in 1998. It receives full tax exempt status from the IRS under section 501(c) (3), allowing United States taxpayers to receive tax deductions on gifts.
