Tate Catering runs restaurants, cafes and events at the four Tate galleries and at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. It incorporates Tate Entertaining, which provides private and corporate events. Tate Catering is part of Tate Enterprises.
Every team member contributes towards the visitor experience – whether they’re front of house, in the kitchen, or behind the scenes. So we recruit only the best, and provide the tools and training to enable our people to do their jobs to the best of their abilities.
Tate Catering roles
Tate Catering is made up of teams in the following roles at all Tate galleries. Current vacancies
Front of house
Tate’s table service restaurants use a diverse front of house team, including hosts, waiters, bartenders and runners. Our counter service and assisted service outlets have roles for baristas and general catering assistants. All areas employ talented supervisors and managers.
Back of house
Our restaurant kitchens employ kitchen porters, kitchen assistants, commis chefs, demi chefs, chef de parties, sous chefs and head chefs. We also have three production kitchens, based at Tate Modern, for pastry, cold food (sandwiches and salads) and hot food production for the restaurants, cafés and events.
Our Finance and People (Human Resources) teams are based at Tate Britain along with our senior management team.
Tate Entertaining roles
Tate Entertaining provides corporate hospitality for Tate gallery events and for other organisations. From client entertainment to celebrations and marketing launches, our event management team delivers high-quality experiences in inspiring surroundings, with thoughtful menus, quality beverages and quality service.
Events Management make sure everything is perfect for each client’s personality, from the location to the crockery and bespoke menus. Kitchen porters, kitchen assistants, commis chefs, demi chefs, chef de parties, sous chefs and head chefs work in tandem with hosts, waiters, bartenders and runners to cater for events ranging from sandwich lunches for small groups to large dinners and receptions.
Tate Entertaining also requires a large number of casual workers to support us at busy periods and for large events.
