About this project
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Tate Members and their major contribution over the years to the Tate Collection, Tate has invited Members to take part in a special edition of this year’s online E-Advent calendar, developed in partnership with BT.
Twenty-four Tate Members, including high profile figures such as Antonia Fraser, Andrew Motion and Michael Palin, have selected their favourite works from the Tate Collection which have been acquired with Members' funds. For 24 days, visitors to Tate Online can open a calendar window and reveal a stunning work of art, along with the member's personal insight behind their choice. Each day visitors can also answer a question about the work for the chance to win a fantastic prize from Tate and BT.
