Lady KENNET (Kathleen, Lady Scott) 1878–1947
Sculptor of portrait busts and figures. Born 27 March 1878 at Carlton-in-Lindrick, Nottinghamshire, daughter of Canon Bruce. Studied at the Slade School and 1901–6 in Paris at the Atelier Colarossi and under Rodin. Married 1908 to Captain Scott of the Antarctic (d. 1912) and 1922 to Sir Edward Hilton Young (later Baron Kennet of the Dene). Exhibited at the R.A. 1913–47, at the International Society, Grosvenor Galleries, 1923, and elsewhere. A.R.B.S. 1928, F.R.B.S. 1946. Died in London 24 July 1947. Memorial exhibition at the Mansard Gallery 1947. Author of Self-Portrait of an Artist, published posthumously 1949.
