- Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones, Bt 1833–1898
- Graphite on paper
- Support: 226 x 178 mm
- Presented by Lord Duveen 1925
The three drawings shown here are preparatory studies for the group of paintings depicting 'The Story of Perseus' (exhibited on the opposite wall, nos.54-6). They were made early in the evolution of the series, so that even before Burne-Jones began painting the three wall-plans, showing how his pictures would be displayed at Arthur Balfour's house, he had substantially revised the pose of Medusa in 'The Finding of Medusa'.
