A small watercolour by Churchyard of the same subject was included in Philip Goodman's exhibition Cotman to Seago, King Street Galleries 1984 (16, repr.). The scene was said to be traditionally identified as Rackham's Mill, Wickham Market, Suffolk. Like many of Churchyard's works, T03619 is inscribed on the back with the name of the daughter who inherited it.
