This sculpture was made in Fullard's studio in Park Walk, Chelsea, in the first part of 1958, and the plaster was exhibited in August the same year in a mixed exhibition at the Woodstock Gallery; it was then titled ‘Child with Flower’. This unique bronze was cast by John Galizia & Sons in 1960.
Mrs Fullard writes that the figure was intended as a boy, and probably dressed in a costume of early in this century, when children of both sexes wore skirts. The daffodil was made from scrap pieces of wrought iron.
