Inscr. ‘E M Henderson.’ b.l.
Russian charcoal on thin brown packing paper, 9 3/4×14 3/4 (25×37).
Presented by the Contemporary Art Society 1917.
Coll: Nos. 3206–7 were purchased from the artist by the C.A.S. on the advice of Sydney Cockerell 1917; a third drawing purchased at the same time was presented to the British Museum.

The artist wrote of this and N03207 (3 February 1958): ‘The Leopard studies were done at the London Zoological Gardens in 1916 and probably the Tiger also, but if not then from memory - I must have done hundreds of drawings at the Zoo at that time - many of them very fragmentary and very rapidly done - my visual memory being very strong, I drew a great deal from memory.’
