Technique and condition
A watercolour with detail in gouache on blue wove paper. Slight discolouration is visible where the window mount opening has exposed the work to atmospheric conditions; all four edges under the window mount opening show the paper tone to be brighter and 'bluer'.
On acquisition the woodpulp mount and backing were removed. Residual adhesive on the verso was removed and the work pressed prior to being inlaid and mounted onto white museum board.
