The drawing shows the artist's drawing-board with this drawing on it and his paint-box in the foreground.

His widow wrote (25 September 1958) that the view is ‘from the top of the steps near a passage through the Kyber Pass (a tunnel through the hill side) with our dog in the foreground’.
