The second of three casts; the first is in the Ulster Museum, Belfast. The idea of the bust portraits of William and Mary Scott (see T00121) was suggested at a New Year's Eve party 1955; that of William was started the following day and completed in a week and the bust of his wife was made in the following week (letter from the artist, 21 March 1957).
