Inscribed ‘Nicholson 67’, b.l., and ‘(glass topped bottle)’ on reverse; embossed with print-maker's stamp, b.l; sheet 19 1/4×14 3/4 (49×37·5); plate 14 1/4×10 1/4 (36×26).
This group of etchings neither forms a single suite nor includes any complete suite. ‘Turkish sundial and column’ [P02014] is one of ten etchings included in Nicholson's suite ‘Greek and Turkish Forms’. ‘Palästra’ [P02009] and ‘small silent Siena’ [P02008] are two of ten etchings included in Nicholson's ‘architectural suite’ (where ‘small silent Siena’ is entitled ‘Siena’). Both suites were published jointly by Ganymed Original Editions Ltd and Marlborough Fine Art Ltd.
