The artist was a great friend of Charles Conder (q.v., vol. I) and drew him many times. A painting of Conder was presented to the Luxembourg by Sir Edmund Davis. This drawing is a full-length but, as the lower right corner is torn, it has been mounted as a three-quarter length.
