P07945 Picasso's Guernica and the Nazis 1968

Lithograph with red biro 7 3/8 × 12 1/4 (188 × 311), printed by the artist at Editions Alecto, not editioned
Inscribed ‘C.S. 1968’ b.l. and ‘Picasso's Guernica and the Nazis’ and ‘Lithotrial 2 1/3’
Purchased from the artist (Grant-in-Aid) 1983

The swastika badges were rubbings taken from a ring and transferred onto the stone. There are only two or three works on this theme, each with a different ‘Picasso Forgery’ drawn in ink, to ‘bring out one of the “whys” of his art’.
