Catalogue entry

The subject is continued on folio 2 recto opposite (D02395). If the sketchbook was in use in the late summer, the lack of leaves on these trees can perhaps be explained as having been caused by strong sea-winds, suggesting that the scene is an exposed hillside on the coast.
