Catalogue entry

This sketch depicts a building seen amidst the trees in the gardens of the Villa Borghese, probably either the Casino del Graziano on present-day Viale del Giardino Zoologico,1 or the Casa Cenci, see the opposite sheet of the double-page spread, folio 80 (D16302; Turner Bequest CLXXXVIII 79). A small part of the sketch spills over onto this sheet. For other sketches of the Borghese Gardens and a general discussion see folio 62 (D16267; Turner Bequest CLXXXVIII 61).
