These swiftly and loosely rendered sketches show the beaches and coastline near the port of Yarmouth, Norfolk. They were developed into a finished watercolour of Yarmouth engraved in 1829 for the England and Wales print series (see Tate impression T04547).1 For other sketches of Yarmouth in this book see Tate D18203–D18223; Turner Bequest CCIX 24a–34a.
