Catalogue entry

This sketch was made with the page turned horizontally. Honicknowle, indicated by Turner’s ‘Honack Knoll’ is now absorbed in the north-western suburbs of Plymouth, making the establishment of Turner’s viewpoint problematic. The subjects as far as folio 127 recto (D09358) are all identified or presumed sites within a few miles, suggesting a series of fairly short excursions.
