Catalogue entry

This sketch is one of a series of interior views of the Duomo (cathedral) of Parma, see folios 9 verso–10 verso (D16658–D16660). Turner’s study is very rough and schematic and the precise location has not been identified. On the right-hand side of the sheet is a transcription of a Latin inscription, dated ‘1617’.
