Catalogue entry

Later developments and trees make the viewpoint uncertain, but Launceston Castle and the adjacent St Mary Magdalene’s Church are seen across the valley to the north-east, apparently from the vicinity of Western Road south of the modern A30 road.

For other views of Launceston Castle and the surrounding town, see under folio 70 recto (D09873; Turner Bequest CXXXIV 72).
