Catalogue entry

For Turner’s views of the Pool and City of London in this sketchbook see note to folio 12 (D05785).
Here, the tower of St Dunstan-in-the-East is only faintly outlined in pencil while other buildings and boats are drawn with the pen and shadows and reflections indicated by wash. For another view including the church see folio 13 (D05786), and for the Custom House see folio 14 (D05788) where it appears in a similar view from further to the right.
