Technique and condition

Fine watercolour drawing with pen and ink detail. In general the watercolour is in moderate condition. There is some yellow discolouration around the edge and foxing spots towards the top edge. The drawing depicts a rocky landscape pictured under a full moon with a temple and crouching figure with goats in the foreground near a bridge over a river, with the valley stretching away behind. The image has been created from layers of translucent watercolour in fine brush stokes on top of broader areas of colour. Scratching-out by the artist has created small areas of highlight in several areas. Details on the goat have been added in fine black ink lines.
