Catalogue entry

Another drawing that seems to show the view along this valley is on folio 70 recto (D01332; Turner Bequest XXXVIII 78).
Verso:
Blank; inscribed by Turner in pencil ‘[?Shabut]’; stamped in brown ink with Turner Bequest monogram.
Finberg reads ‘Phabut’ or ‘Mabut’,1 but the word may be a transliteration of Siabod, the distinctive mountain that flanks Nant-y-Gwrhyd to the south.
