Joseph Mallord William Turner Boats on the Thames, ?Richmond Bridge 1805

Joseph Mallord William Turner 1775–1851
Folio 11 Verso:
Boats on the Thames, ?Richmond Bridge 1805
D05863
Turner Bequest XCIV 11a
Pencil on white wove paper, prepared with a grey wash, 143 x 228 mm

Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
A very slight sketch. Hill’s suggestion that Richmond Bridge is discernible in the middle distance is convincing as it certainly appears in the sketch facing on folio 12 (D05864).
