Finberg recorded that this sheet together with those now bound as folios 40 and 41 (D04783, D04784) were ‘found in a parcel labelled “A.B.30 P.O. Pencil and colour. Valueless.”’ As Finberg surmised, this is probably a view of Lucerne, seen from the River Reuss. For other Lucerne views, see folios 36 and 48 of this sketchbook (D04777, D04794). Another may be folio 41 (D04784).
