Listed by Finberg as one of a batch of ‘loose leaves appear[ing] to belong to this book’ this was rebound as folio 60. See note to the recto (D07130; Turner Bequest CV 92) for Finberg’s listing of the leaf in the Windsor and Eton sketchbook (Tate; Turner Bequest XCVII) as well and his confusion as to whether the recto or verso was the side exhibited in the touring Fourth Loan Collection. The paper is discoloured from exposure or mounting of the recto.
There are three separate sketches, two of shipping on the Thames near London Bridge, with St Paul’s Cathedral in the distance, and one of a plough. See Introduction to the sketchbook for plans in the mid 1820s for a series of London subjects, including London Bridge and the Custom House.
