Finberg did not attempt a transcription of these notes, which must form a colour key of an unidentified picture of upright format. The notation is too complex to be set out here, although both initials and words, including ‘Blue Grey’, ‘Dark’ and ‘Ochre’, are legible. Further study of the original is required.
