Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
The boats are very slight outlines, but look like barges or lighters.
For Turner’s residence at Sion Ferry House see Introduction to the sketchbook. The accounts, presumably records of banknotes or drafts and the dates of their encashment, read as follows:
