Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
Hill’s suggestion of Strawberry Hill, Horace Walpole’s house by the Thames at Twickenham, is plausible but unconfimed. He further suggests that this sketch continues to the right on folio 9 of the sketchbook (D05859), possibly depicting riverside buildings at Twickenham.
