Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
This very slight sketch, towards the bottom left of the cover, is not mentioned in Finberg’s Turner Bequest Inventory.1 It comprises two parallel lines, joined at one end, joined to a further short line in parallel below with a diagonal line leading off it. If not a doodle, it may be part of a building or some other man-made object or feature. There is what appears to be an unrelated diagram on folio 2 verso (D10208; CXXXVII 2a).
