Continuing on folio 87 verso (D13731; CLXVII 79a) is a view looking south along the Tyne valley with Crichton Collegiate Church (folio 87 verso) and Crichton Castle. Turner has paid more attention to the church than the castle, having made a detailed sketch of the castle from this angle on folio 86 (D13728; CLXVII 78). There are ruins of several buildings on either side of the vale and an arched bridge across the river.
