Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
The last page of the sketchbook contains a rough drawing of a landscape which Turner has labelled ‘Gensarno’ (i.e. Genzano di Roma, a town near Lake Nemi). However, the precise subject matter of the sketch and the meaning of the inscription are not yet identified.
