For the Tour de St Michel, near Servoz, see folio 1 of this sketchbook (D04393), and also folios 60, 62 and 63 (D04457, D04459, D04461). The same cross, and a related inscription, appears on folio 60. Mont Blanc appears in the distance. Besides these three sketches, Turner also made drawing in his larger St Gothard and Mont Blanc sketchbook (Tate D04606, D04640; Turner Bequest LXXV 14, 48).
