For Neuhaus, Turner’s landing place at the far end of Lake Thun, see folio 60 of this sketchbook. (D04717). He landed in stormy conditions and here clouds partly obscure the Niesen, seen on the left from near the landing stage or just offshore. Andrew Wilton associates both sketches with Turner’s watercolour made for Walter Fawkes (on the London art market, 2007), but folio 60 is the most closely related.1
