Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
Numbered by Finberg as folio 12 of this sketchbook, this has since been rebound as folio 14. Turner turned the book sideways so as to make an upright view. The church with tall Gothic tower has not been identified, but may have been at Calais.
