Joseph Mallord William Turner 1775–1851
Folio 11 Verso:
Architectural Details of Jedburgh Abbey 1831
D25662
Turner Bequest CCLXV 11a
Pencil on white wove paper, 96 x 59 mm

Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
With the sketchbook turned to the right is a sketch of parts of arches at the arcade and triforium levels of a church. They are presumably associated with sketches on folio 10 verso (D25660), which Finberg has suggested are of Jedburgh Abbey.1 David Wallace-Hadrill also made this suggestion in his unpublished notes.2
At the bottom of the page is the continuation of a sketch of Manchester from folio 12 (D25663).
