Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
Listed by Finberg as one of a batch of ‘loose leaves appear[ing] to belong to this book’ this was rebound as folio 8. There are traces of gum on the back, suggesting that the leaf was laid down or mounted. However, Finberg does not record it as having been in any early exhibitions.
See note to folio 7 (D07126; Turner Bequest CV 90), which came from the same group, is drawn in a similar manner with hatching and shading, and also has gum on the back.
