Drawn with the sketchbook inverted, the subject continues, with St Paul’s Cathedral and Somerset House, on folio 85 (D07100; Turner Bequest CV 75). The significance of the numbers, written by what look like steps at the top of the leaf, is unclear. See Introduction for plans in the mid 1820s for a series of London subjects, including London Bridge, the Custom House and the Tower.
