The larger sketch on this page is of Loch Goil, as seen from about half way up the loch looking south, with Carrick Castle at the right. Turner made a number of sketches of this view; see folio 4 verso (D26626) for details. The sketch beneath this, made with the book inverted, is also likely to be of Loch Goil, probably showing the view in the opposite direction looking north along the east shore of the loch.
