The Sound of Kerrera is seen here from the east coast of the island of Kerrera.1 The view looks north along the shore of the island and up the Sound of Kerrera, with the Little Horseshoe Bay in the foreground and Gallanach to the right, from where Turner had boarded his ferry to Kerrera (see folio 77 verso; D26893). Having landed on Kerrera, Turner made his way to the south of the island where he sketched Gylen Castle (folios 63 verso–75 verso; D26865–D26889), and from there to Barr-nam-boc Bay at the west of the island (folios 61–63; D26860–D26854).
