The sketch of a building on a hill can be tentatively identified as Gordon Castle at Fochabers near Elgin. There are sketches of the Bridge at Fochabers on the opposite sketchbook page, folio 145 (D27223). Beneath is a sketch of a street with a building with a tall steeple and spire. This does not match any buildings at Fochabers and has not been identified.
