Made at Bonnington Linn on the River Clyde, this sketch looks south across the river with the waterfall on the left. There is a similar view on folio 9 verso (D26276) which concentrates on the island of rock dividing the waterfall into two. The same rock can be seen at the left of the present page. There is also a similar view on folio 10 verso (D26278). For further sketches of the Falls of Clyde see folio 1 verso (D26260).
