Like the wider view on folio 87 verso (D08528; CXXIII 84a), this sketch seems to show the view from the road along the north side of the Teign Estuary near Wear Barton, east of Kingsteignton (see folio 86 verso; D08526; CXXIII 83a), looking east towards the South Devon coast, with the masts of shipping at Teignmouth on the left and the Ness headland on the right.
