From the cliffs outside East Looe, Turner records the full sweep of the coast along Looe Bay to the east, leading on to Whitesand Bay to the south-east, and terminating at Rame Head, south of Plymouth, some ten miles away. Such is the extent of the vista that it is split into two, with the continuation into the distance running along the bottom edge.
There is a view in the opposite direction on folio 115 verso (D08582; CXXIII 112a), under which other views in the area are discussed.
