The upper sketch, showing the Cornish coast near Pendennis Castle, south of Falmouth, looking east towards St Mawes, is isolated in the top third of the page by a heavy, irregular line. Across the middle of the page is a profile of the castle, which is repeated in more detail on folio 221 recto opposite (D08761; CXXIII 218).
There appears to be a third drawing below, which may incorporate a simplified profile of the castle in the distance. For other views in and around Falmouth see under folio 7 verso (D08375).
Technical notes:
The heavy ink drawing on the recto (D08759; CXXIII 217) has bled through, disrupting the reading of the drawings on this page.
